We held several events in local communities that supported and connected with diverse population groups. From volunteering in kitchens, putting together women's care packages, making PB&J sandwiches, training on naloxone, donating blood, and so much more!

  • Trained over 150 conference attendees on the administration of Naloxone (Narcan). And even distributed over 60 doses of nasal spray. These efforts will continue in collaboration with APTA Massachusetts. PT in the Community has sponsored 8 chapter members, who have completed trainer training to continue to train individuals in their local communities across the state.
  • Hosted a Health and Falls Screening event at Brighton Senior Center, where we screened over 50 older adults and educated them on ways to live healthier and reduce their falls risk. Exercise equipment was purchased for the center to improve their health and wellness offerings. These efforts will continue through APTA Massachusetts, who has already scheduled future events with other local centers.
  • Supported the Physical Therapists of the Boston Public School with the purchase of a variety of equipment and supplies to facilitate improved therapy services for the kids they serve. Volunteers visited a local High School to spread the word about the profession.
  • Assembled over 100 hygiene kits for Women's Lunch Place.
  • Hosted a Pelvic Health Talk and Yoga Class for Women's Lunch Place and even supported them with additional supplies for their new health and wellness programming.
  • Purchased an abundance of warm winter clothing for St. Francis House.
  • Assembled over 200 PB&J sandwiches for those utilizing St. Francis House for meal options.
  • Volunteered to serve breakfast at Women's Lunch Place and St. Francis House.
  • Facilitated a blood drive through Massachusetts General Hospital.
  • Donated $900 in gift cards (CVS, Target, Dunkin Donuts) to Bridge Over Troubled Waters, a shelter that serves local youth.
