The objective of this Seminar Series is to train residents and clinicians participating in continuing professional development in the skills required to implement the APTA Orthopedics Clinical Practice Guidelines at a high level. In essence, it will be 12 days of fast-paced, high-level skill-building.

Yue (Lilian) Chen, DPT, OCS
Dr. Yue (Lilian) Chen received her DPT from the University of Southern California in 2003. She then completed a residency and became board-certified in orthopaedic physical therapy - the first Chinese citizen to attain this status. Dr. Chen was the lead consultant physical therapist for the Chinese National Team during the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio de Janeiro 2016, and Tokyo 2021. Dr. Chen has served four 3-year terms as the English-to-Chinese translation coordinator of the AOPT/JOSPT Clinical Practice Guidelines, which led to the publication of the guidelines in the Chinese Journal of Sports Medicine and Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Medicine. Lilian has been the leader in bringing the science of rehabilitation to China. These initiatives included implementing USC-affiliated DPT student affiliations, ortho-PT clinical residencies, and spine and maternal health clinical fellowships in three different regions in China - training the next generation of physical therapy specialists in China.

Joe Godges, DPT
Dr. Godges has over 30 years of experience providing lab instruction and clinical mentoring for orthopaedic and sports physical therapy residents, as well as for manual therapy, movement science, and spine fellows in programs for Kaiser Permanente and the University of Southern California. Dr. Godges began his PT training as an officer in the US Army. Then, he attained certification as a manual therapist, Rolfer, and PNF practitioner. Dr. Godges' professional development also included receiving his MA in counseling psychology.

From 2008 to 2017, Dr. Godges was the coordinator and editor of the AOPT/JOSPT’s ICF-based Clinical Practice Guidelines. He has also served terms on the Orthopaedic Specialty Council of the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, on the APTA’s Committee on Clinical Residency and Fellowship Credentialing, and the AOPT and JOSPT Board of Directors. Dr. Godges was among the first 26 clinical specialists in orthopaedic physical therapy, certified initially in 1989. He attained his third OCS recertification in 2019.

Christopher Mohr, PT, DPT, OCS
Christopher Mohr, PT, DPT, OCS, is the current Director of Clinical Operations and co-owner of The Summit Physical Therapy in Central California. Dr. Mohr has been a physical therapist in the outpatient orthopaedic setting for the past 24 years and specializes in manual therapy including advanced manipulative techniques. He received his orthopaedic clinical specialty (OCS) in 2006 and was recertified in 2016. Dr. Mohr possesses over 20 years of experience as a clinical mentor for interns, new graduates, and veteran physical therapists. In 2019, he received the Clinical Instructor of Excellence award from the Northern California Clinical Educaton Consortium. His current focus is on the development of a residency and spinal fellowship program for The Summit Physical Therapy and advancement of evidence-based continuing education opportunities for the physical therapist and physical therapy assistant in the San Joaquin Valley. Chris is currently establishing a non-profit organization to provide physical therapy to the underserved in the Central Valley.
