Volunteer Opportunity: Advisory Core for Clinical Trial

Dear Member,

An international clinical trial, sponsored by Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), has requested that APTA nominate a representative to serve on its Stakeholder Advisory Core over the next five years.

This multicenter, randomized controlled trial, Comparing Arthroplasty and Internal Fixation for Reducing Death, Improving Ambulation, and Increasing Days at Home After Minimally Displaced Femoral Neck Fracture (FASTER-HIP), will study 600 people with minimally displaced femoral neck fractures to determine if arthroplasty is superior to internal fixation when used to treat minimally displaced femoral neck fractures in patients >60 years old.

Responsibilities include attendance at quarterly 1-hour meetings (remote), with the opportunity to participate in two in-person trial meetings over the next five years.

Interested members with either orthopedic or geriatric expertise should apply here. Notes: To apply, members must log into the APTA Engage platform.

Deadline for application: July 31, 2025.
