Student Sponsorship to APTA Federal Advocacy Events

Each fall, the Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy is proud to support the Student Assembly by supporting a Student Physical Therapist or Student Physical Therapist Assistant to attend the 2021 Federal Advocacy Events in Washington, DC.

The AOPT office will send out a "call" for sponsorship applications each summer. The interested physical therapy/physical therapist assistant student must complete the following questions and essay to be selected by the Practice Committee to attend the APTA Federal Advocacy Events.

1. What are the important legislation issues in Congress that could impact the practice of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy? (limit response to 100 words)
2. What do you hope to accomplish by attending the 2021 Federal Advocacy Events? (Limit response to 300 words)
3. How will you disseminate information from the forum back to your school and state chapter? (Limit response to 100 words)

Students must be AOPT members to be eligible for the sponsorship.
