Position title: The Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy is seeking nominations for Associate Editor of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Practice (OPTP).
Committee/Task Force Charge: To conduct reviews on article submissions to insure publication of high quality work of interest to Academy of Orthopaedic Section members and the physical therapy community-at-large.
Term (duration): 3-year appointment; max of 2 consecutive 3-year terms
Time expectancy: Review of submitted articles (articles are approximately 3,600 words per article), estimate 2-4 articles to review per month. Email communication and possible phone calls with Editor and Managing Editor, maximum 2 times per month.
Travel requirements: If attending CSM, a face-to-face meeting would be scheduled; but not required.
Fiscal implications: None; the position does not offer any reimbursement or honorarium.
Essential requirements of position: Ideally all candidates will have experience in conducting article reviews through the peer review process and also have past experience of publication.
Duties include:
- Provide formal and informal feedback on OPTP to the Editor and Managing Editor.
- Assist in all article reviews.
- Assist in author recruitment, if necessary.
- Fulfill duties of Editor if the current OP Editor is unable to perform their duties.
- Be available for a formal review with Editor and Managing Editor, if attending CSM.
